Rowan Fitzgerald Estate Agents Welcomes Plans for 1,500 New Homes Near Limerick
A transformative new housing initiative is set to reshape the village of Patrickswell, just outside Limerick City, with up to 1,500 new homes planned for development on a 70-acre site. This ambitious expansion will see the village evolve into what many are already calling Limerick’s next thriving town.
Limerick City and County Council has formally begun the process of acquiring the land, with a significant €4 million investment secured through the 2025 Mayoral Fund, as confirmed by Mayor John Moran.
Located strategically along the Adare to Foynes train line and just minutes from the motorway, this new development is expected to include a mix of private and public housing, catering to both homebuyers and renters. Additionally, plans include essential community amenities, further enhancing the area’s appeal for families, professionals, and investors alike.
Mayor Moran commented:
“This could accommodate 1,000 to 1,500 new private and public homes for purchase and rent, as well as amenities for all of the village. We’ll soon have to start calling Patrickswell a ‘town’.”
