The RTB published its quarterly rent index for the period between October to December 2019. The national standardized average rent was e1226 per month, this was up by nearly 6.5% from the same period a year earlier. However quarter on quarter nationally, rents are actually down by 1.2% approaching the end of 2019. By the end of 2019, Limerick was one of 3 counties, the other been Kilkenny and Laois, that had a standardized average rent of between e900 and e999. This mirrors the concentration of demand that the country’s biggest areas of employment require. According to the index, rent in Limerick fell by 5.2%, down from e975 in the final quarter of 2019 to e925 per month.
